ILLUSIONS OF LYME GALA, APRIL 2nd
WHY FUNDING LYME RESEARCH IS SO
IMPORTANT NOW

Time for Lyme’s paramount mission is funding research about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases where the end game is a definitive diagnostic test and ultimately a cure. The task is challenging - the disease is on the rise and there are multitudes of road blocks - minimal public funding, medical communities not recognizing chronic Lyme, inaccurate reporting of the number of  Lyme cases and a challenging economy, to name a few.

TFL HONORS ALLY HILFIGER FOR HER FIGHT
WITH LYME

Tommy Hilfiger’s daughter Ally has struggled with Lyme disease since she was just seven. Like so many people who suffer from the disease, Hilfiger did not receive a proper diagnosis for several years – in fact she was no longer a child when a doctor finally confirmed that Lyme disease caused her chronic pain and fatigue.

DR. KAREN NEWELL AND RICHARD GERSTNER TO RECEIVE THE LAUREN F. BROOKS HOPE AWARD

Time For Lyme will honor Richard “Dick” Gerstner and Dr. M. Karen Newell at its bi-annual gala fundraiser on April 2, 2011. Gerstner and Newell are being honored with TFL’s Lauren Brooks “Hope” award for their part in advancing Lyme and tick-borne disease research.

SCOTT MITCHELL AND DAVE PRICE ADD THEIR
SUPPORT TO THE GALA

Scott Mitchell of Mitchell’s Stores in Greenwich and Westport tells us, “my grandfather always taught us all to give back to our communities.” This explains Scott’s enthusiasm in chairing the upcoming Time for Lyme gala fundraiser.
